2023 Education Summit FAQ

2023 Summit FAQs

Who should attend the Summit?

The Impact Florida Education Summit will feature high-caliber speakers, learning experiences, and networking for all public education professionals - especially district academic leaders, such as CAOs, ELA and math specialists, superintendents, instructional materials leaders, and teachers. The Summit also presents a great opportunity for sponsors and funders to meet and learn about Florida districts and their needs.

Impact Florida believes the Summit is most useful when districts can send a team of leaders who can take the learning home and implement it. We recommend attending the Summit with a team of 5-7 leaders for medium and large districts, and 3-5 leaders for smaller districts. If you're attending by yourself, we'll have lots of tools and resources for you to take back - or maybe this is a good time to reach out and invite a friend!

What is on the agenda for this year's Summit?

As always, the Impact Florida Education Summit will bring national experts and groundbreaking Florida leaders together to talk about what matters for students - great teaching and the conditions that support it. We strive to create a premier learning experience for education leaders to learn from each other across traditional boundaries - superintendents and other district leaders, funders, education advocacy groups, and teachers. This year, our theme is "Impact that Matters: Centering Student Success" - we look forward to elevating innovative approaches to student engagement, implementation of high-quality instructional materials, best practices in ELA and math, and other topical issues for Florida educators. We will publish agenda information as it becomes available. Stay tuned to impactfl.link/summit and be sure to sign up for Impact Florida email updates.

When does registration open, and what does it cost?

Registration for the 2023 Education Summit will open in November 2022. The early bird registration fee is $270 per attendee before December 31, and the registration fee will be $300 after January 1, 2023. Discounted room rates are available at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek for $225 per night. This year, Summit attendees will be responsible for their own hotel reservations. A special link for the discounted rate will be included in the post-registration email - the Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a resort with pools, restaurants, entertainment, walking paths, and more - lots to do if you choose to stay the weekend or bring a guest or a family.

When should I plan to arrive and depart? What about parking?

The program will start the morning of Thursday, March 2, and finish early afternoon on Friday, March 3. If you are traveling from out of town, we recommend traveling the day before the Summit, and booking two nights at the hotel: the night of Wednesday, March 1, and the night of Thursday, March 2. The room discount is also available over the weekend if you wish to stay in Orlando. All attendees will have access to discounted self-parking at a significantly discounted cost of $10 per day on site. If you're not staying overnight at the hotel, you can get a voucher for the discounted rate of $10 per day at the Summit information desk.

Impact Florida covered the cost of my registration and hotel in the past. Will my district or organization be responsible for the cost this year?

Due to generous philanthropic support during our start-up years, Impact Florida was able to underwrite the attendance of some attendees at our previous Summits. This year and going forward, it's necessary for Impact Florida to diversify our revenue to sustain our work of bringing district leaders together to tackle common problems and learn from each other, across roles, specialties, and other boundaries. The fee is $300 for regular registration and $270 for early bird registration. We very much hope that cost won't be a barrier to your learning.
